Objective: Teachers will be able to demonstrate understanding of LGTBQIA+ language, pronouns, and challenges that these students face.
Description: Feeling comfortable being uncomfortable. Learning how to make mistakes and grow in the stretch zone when dealing with our gender non-conforming students. This starts with asking questions.
By providing a safe place in the classroom for students who are gender non-conforming, it is possible to have a more worldly experience during class discussion. Otherwise, these students are sometimes withholding valuable insights because they are afraid to speak up.
