Objective: To learn the basic principles of why student's behave (or don't), how behavior impacts learning (including our own) and walk away with practical strategies to use in the classroom.

Description: Are you interested in learning strategies for promoting positive behavior in the classroom? Participants in this exposition will gain strategies that will assist in reducing class time lost to discipline, decreasing office referrals, decreasing special education referrals, and keeping students engaged.
Advice for Implementation: Behavior is unpredictable but it is still a learned skill. In order to change it, we must teach an alternative behavior to the one we are trying to reduce. Behavior most likely gets worse before improvement is noted, so stay consistent and genuine.
