Organizing a 21st Century Learning Conference
In this two-hour workshop, teachers will organize a 21st Century Learning Conference. Inspired by successful 21st Century Learning conferences hosted by Nipmuc Regional High School, Middleborough High School teachers will explore possible themes, and begin the planning process for our own conference-style learning opportunity. A 21st Century Learning Conference is similar to the professional conferences we attend as teachers, but designed for our students. We will begin with a discussion about core values specific to each academic discipline. We will consider the concept of authentic learning and reflect on the value of real world tasks. We will brainstorm possible themes for our own 21st Century Learning Conference at MHS. We will utilize technology to facilitate communication and collaboration. Please bring your charged laptop and sit in the library by department. Please come with an mind that is open to a new instructional trend that could be very beneficial for our students and fun for us.
We will begin our work in the MHS Library promptly at 12:00pm. Please bring your CHARGED laptop as we will spend the afternoon planning a 21st Century Learning Conference for MHS. Cool stuff!
