"A Walk In My Shoes" - Disability Awareness
Objectives:
To introduce the concepts of Learning Disabilities (LDs)
To experience what it might feel like to have LDs
To talk about resources around anxiety and depression
Description: This two hours session will provide an understanding and awareness of disabilities, as well as develop a plan to assist those with disabilities in the classroom. Educators will gain tools that allow all students, regardless of their abilities, access into the classroom setting.
Advice for Implementation: Learning the difference between when a student can't do something vs. when they won't will help you better support all learners in your classroom.
