Using EPals
Objective: To create global connections.
Description: Establishing an electronic pen pal experience for your students will broaden their knowledge and understanding of your subject matter and how it relates to other countries and cultures.
My students have been very enthusiastic to establish a linguistic and cultural exchange with students in another country. They are able to see school and teen life from the perspective of students in a different culture. I was able to point out common language errors of Spanish speakers learning English which makes my students more aware of translation challenges.
Advice for Implementation:Decide the purpose of your epal exchange and protocols for the electronic communication.
